Masterminding a murder from jail

By: Imran Gowhar

Police suspect jailed rowdy-sheeter to have planned realtor's death

The murder of 27-year-old realtor, Lohit Gowda, near Parappana Agrahara prison on Thursday proves once again that gangsters don't give up even in jail.

Lohit's associates, Muniraju and Sachidananda Murthy who escaped unhurt in the attack, told police that it was the work of rowdy-sheeter Seena who was actually Lohit's friend.

On their tip-off, police arrested Sunil, 22, and Kumar alias Preethi, 22, of Gavipuram.

Police said, Sunil, Kumar and Lohit were involved in real estate and had links with underworld gangs.

Seena, a gangster arrested in connection with the murder and presently in jail, was a friend of all three.

They would ask Seena for help whenever needed, police said.

When Lohit received a huge sum of revenue (through extortion and land-dealing) for a plot in Nelamangala Industrial area, he refused to share it with Sunil and Kumar.

Enraged, they approached Seena and allegedly sought his help to eliminate Lohit. They also offered him a huge sum of money.

Seena asked Lohit to stop  at a particular hotel near  Parappana Agrahara and pack some food for him.

According to plan, an armed gang waited at the hotel and allegedly attacked Lohit as soon as he reached there.
Parappana Agrahara police are seeking the court's permission to interrogate Seena to ascertain if Seena did mastermind the plot from the jail. If so, how did he operate while he was in confinement.
