Advantages
Chembur is purely a residential area with little commercial activity. It is also well-connected by the Sion-Panvel Highway and the Eastern Express Highway. All harbour lines halt at Chembur. The upcoming monorail project at Chembur will also boost its connectivity.
It has a number of good schools, colleges, hospitals, shopping centres, etc. Every locality has its own market.
Disadvantages
It's a very crowded area. There are regular traffic jams on the main road leading to Chembur.
Chembur doesn't have as many malls as the western suburbs or Vashi.
