The area enjoys a strategic location. You can easily travel from here to Andheri via Alaspha Village as well as to Thane and Navi Mumbai.
The upcoming Versova- Andheri- Ghatkopar metro rail system has hiked real estate prices in Ghatkopar.
The slum rehabilitation scheme in Ghatkopar(East) has cleared land for planned development. A new four screen multiplex has been constructed at Patel Chowk by Neelyog Construction.
The Vikhroli- Jogeshwari Link Road has made it easier for residents to commute to the western suburbs.
DISADVANTAGES
Except for the LBS road, the lanes and streets in Ghatkopar are very narrow and congested all day long. It's very difficult to get autos or buses in the evening.
Ghatkopar is very saturated in terms of real estate development. There is no land available for further development.
The area doesn't have posh malls, shopping centers or multi-cuisine restaurants. All the malls are presently under construction.
