A 10-year-old schoolboy was killed on Saturday by a speeding truck on the Kalyan-Bhiwandi Highway at around 12.30 pm. Madhav Samudrekar was a student of Balak Mandir High School in Kalyan. He was crossing at Sahajanand Chowk on his cycle, when a truck from Bhiwandi rammed into him and killed him on the spot.
Sr Police Inspector C Thorat of Bazar Peth Police Station, said, "We could not decide who was at fault. We have arrested the driver Rakesh Kumar (24), who will be produced in Kalyan court." |
