I didn't kill my wife or leave her for dead: NRI

By: Agencies
The husband of Geeta Aulakh (28) who was arrested and then released on bail yesterday protested his innocence.

Harpreet claimed he received death threats before Geeta died and was attacked three times by a gang in the weeks leading up to the murder.

Harpreet said the vendetta against him went back to a shooting seven months ago. He added, "I witnessed something to do with a double shooting.

It was gang related. I helped the police recover some firearms and arrest some people."

Aulakh was found dying and mutilated in the street on Monday with severe head injuries and one of her hands cut off by a passerby in north-west London.

Six more men were arrested yesterday in Ealing, west London, over the killing.

Investigators believe Aulakh was attacked shortly after leaving Sunrise Radio, where she was a receptionist, to pick up her two children on Monday evening.
