Starting young

By: Correspondent

Youth To Youth Foundation works in the field of RTI activism and conducts workshops to heighten the awareness of youngsters on various political issues. Ameya Jagtap (25), the president of the foundation, graduated from the Symbiosis Institute of Design recently.

"In 2005, I started with just four friends. All of us were from different colleges. We are more than 150 members-strong now. Only youth in the age bracket of 16 to 25 years are allowed to join our group," says Ameya.

"Youngsters think social work means tree plantation, cleanliness drives, blood donation and supporting orphanages. All this should be part of our daily routine but we should go beyond this. We need to work out solutions for our problems like traffic, parking," Ameya added.

Pallavi Nanda, conveyor of the forum's Intellection section, said she is very proud of the changes that she has brought about.

"I joined this group when I was in college. When I see the minor changes we are making, I feel really happy!"
