In a scathing editorial in today's edition of the Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna, party supremo Balasaheb Thackeray has directed his ire towards Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani.
At a conference in London, Ambani had said that the furore over issuance of taxi permits to Marathi-speaking drivers was unfortunate and that "Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi belong to all Indians".
In response, the front-page editorial issued a warning to Ambani to steer clear of the issue. After mocking Ambani's stand, Thackeray ended the editorial saying, "The Marathi man- oos has as much right over Mumbai as Mukesh Ambani has over Reliance companies. The only difference is that your interest is for business purposes while Mumbai is the pride of the people. So, you are welcome to carry on business activities, that's your duty. I warn you not to challenge the Marathi manoos." |
