An unidentified caller claiming to be affiliated to a terror outfit called up the residence of Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan and asked for his whereabouts on Friday evening.
Mumbai police commissioner Sanjeev Dayal confirmed the incident but refused to divulge details.
While authorities suspect it is a prank, investigations are on to locate the caller who spoke in Hindi. Sources say the caller said he belonged to the Al Qaeda. Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), H Roy said the caller's location had been tracked.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed sources claim one Nashik Abdul Gani Shah has been detained in this case. |
