Though Nandita Das is busy being a first-time mother, she cannot resist getting back to cinema. After her directorial debut Firaaq, Das has now trained her sights on an international film called Trafficking, based on the flesh trade.
Written by Siddharth Kara who has researched extensively on the subject, Trafficking will tell the story of three sex workers from India, Nigeria and Ukraine. Apparently, when producers Luca Guadagnino and Elizabeth Stanley watched Firaaq, they were convinced that Das was the right choice to direct Trafficking.
The actress now has to figure out how she can divide time between her son Vihaan, and her direction plans. Das jokes, "Now there are two men in my life. I don't know how I'm going to find any time for myself. But Trafficking is a film that must be made."
The 25 day-old mamma is in no hurry to shoot. "In a few months, I'll be more comfortable taking care of Vihaan and starting work on the film." Das has decided that he will accompany her to the shoot. "Vihaan will see his mamma work!"
