Producer Rakesh Sawant says it's payback for an anti-Marathi song he heard in Bihar
Rakesh Sawant, item girl Rakhi Sawant's brother, has produced a music album and named it Lalu Tumchya Aaicha Gho. Sawant claims the album is an act of revenge that he has been plotting for some time now.

Leave Mumbai out of it "I was in Bihar two months ago, and saw a video where a singer who goes by the name Manoj (not Tiwari) was singing against Raj Thackeray and Maharashtrians. It angered me. It turned out to be a bunch of Biharis who had produced an album titled, Mumbai Tohar Naahi (Mumbai is not yours). I decided to make an album which would teach them a lesson," said Sawant.
Sawant has spent nearly Rs 25 lakh on the making of the album, which includes seven songs and features his mother Jaya (of Bigg Boss fame). "In the video, my mom beats Laloo with a fish. There are lines like, Laloo always says that hum do humare do, baki sab ko Mumbai bhej do," said Sawant.
True Marathi manoos Sawant calls himself a true Marathi manoos and asserts that his whole family is Maharashtrian.
Sister act However, when quizzed about his sister, Rakhi, who recently made a statement that she could have solved the migrant problem better than Raj Thackeray, he said, "My sister is not in touch with me anymore. She doesn't know what she is. Sometimes, she is Gujarati, at other times she is Christian. I've always been Maharashtrian, and so has my family," said Sawant, who produced the album himself since he said he failed to get a record company to back it.
He plans to release the album during Ganesh Chaturthi. |
