A close aide of gangster Ravi Pujari was gunned down by the anti-extortion cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch on Saturday evening at around 8.30 pm.
The incident took place in Santacruz when the police received a tip-off about the accused arriving at the spot.
The accused has been identified as Rajendra Chowdhary alias Thappa, 28.
According to crime branch officials, Thappa was helping Pujari threaten builders and jewellers across the city. |
