The veteran actress told Dayal that she had been receiving threats for more than 25 years. "I'll show you who I am. I will get the house bulldozed. Your body will be chopped into pieces," were among the many threats she said Lakdawala had sent her.

Nayyar however was visibly relieved when she left the office accompanied by designer-turned politician Shaina NC. "The commissioner assured me that he would look into the matter personally. He asked me to go home without fear and relax. He has reassured me. I'm happy," she said on her way out.

Shaina NC said the police should have been more proactive in the matter to begin with. "The police need to take note of the injustices being meted out to vulnerable people in society," she said.

Back story
Earlier last week, the actress had approached Shaina NC after her month-old complaint at Santacruz Police Station against the builder went unheeded. Nayyar claims that Lakdawala has been pressurising her to vacate the apartment she lives in, which is incidentally is owned by playback singer Asha Bhosle, where she has been residing for the last 50 years. She has witnessed dung being flung into her garden, people urinating in her compound too. Recently, she claims, three women barged into her home and threatened to kill her. That's when she approached Shaina NC for help.

Other side of the story
"All the allegations are false. I have never abused Sadhana nor issued any death threats," said Lakdawala, speaking from at his sea-facing flat in Bandra. "I haven't visited her bungalow either, which is actually Asha Bhosle's property. I don't claim any right over the property, nor do I know of any redevelopment plans," he clarified.

Sabina Lakdawala, wife of the accused, claims that it is Nayyar who is posing trouble for Lakdawala's mother-in-law, who currently stays on the second floor of the same bungalow with her elder daughter. "Sadhana's maids come to check the water tank on the terrace whenever my mother is asleep. My mother is also a senior citizen, and has recently undergone a knee replacement surgery. She can't go up or down the steps. When this nuisance by Sadhana's servants on her behest continued, we told them to stop it."

The Lakdawalas approached the Santacruz police to clarify their stand after Nayyar filed the FIR against them. Lakdawala is expected to meet Dayal early next week.
