Teacher's Day revelry, 40 students poisoned

By: Vikas Mishra

After attending a Teacher's Day party approximately 40 students were hospitalised for food poisoning. The incident took place in USI coaching classes, Ghatkopar.

However, parents of the sick children claim that the sweets bought from Hari Om sweets were unhygienic. At 9 pm, last night, the party started and when all the students went home they started vomiting and around 12 am they were admitted to Rajawadi hospital in Ghatkopar.

The authorities at the coaching class found out that the cake and sweet had fungus. At the time of going to press, the Pant Nagar police officials were taking the statement of four students while they were in hospital.

" When my son came home he started vomiting. When I brought him to the hospital I found another classmate of his as well. So we called the owner of the coaching class and inquired about the snacks served in the party," said Vishvanath Gaikwad, father of Tejas Gaikwad who suffered from food poising.

However, the police were unable to arrest the accused, as he managed to flee after hearing the news.

According to Rajawadi doctors all the students are out of danger and will be released today.
