From keeping rowdy customers at bay in pubs to recovering dues for banks, bouncers are a very handy people. But the driver of a Haryana minister has given a new dimension altogether to their job.

The driver - Sunil - accused of raping a maid in Gurgaon used his three bouncer friends to threaten his victim so that she does not approach the police.
Sunil was hired by Haryana home minister Gopal Kanda. But he gifted a car to his niece Priyanka, who lives in Janpratinidhi Apartments in Gurgaon. Sources said the minister had directed Sunil to serve her niece.
Priyanka had gone out of the city on August 8 and directed her maid Alka (name changed) to not to report to  | | The victim at a police station in Gurgaon | work until she returns. She had assured Alka that she would inform her about her return.
On August 27, Sunil reached Alka's residence in Vasant Vihar and told her that Priyanka is back and has asked for her. Sunil, instead, took her to a vacant house in Gurgaon and raped her.
After the incident she returned home. But Sunil sent three goons to Alka's house to threaten them for not complaining to the police.
"We received the information about some bouncers molesting a girl and we arrested all the three goons. On questioning the reasons why she was being targeted, the girl alleged that she had been raped and the goons had come to threaten her not to lodge an FIR in the case. We took the girl for a medical examination," said a police officer.
The Gurgaon police lodged an FIR in the Sec. 24 police station after the confirmation of rape in the medical report.
"We have lodged an FIR under section 376 in Sector 24 police station on the complaint of the girl and have arrested the three accused. The main accused Sunil is still absconding and we will arrest him soon," said Jagdish Singh, SHO Sec.24 police station, Gurgaon.
Alka hails from a Northeastern state and was working at the house of Priyanka since May 17. |
