The Allahabad High Court will be delivering the Judgment in Ramjanmbhoomi-Babri Masjid case on September 17.
According to sources, Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Asim Azmi has sent a letter to the Commissioner of Police to deploy heavy security all over the city to ensure peace after the judgment is pronounced.
Sources added that the letter has also been sent to the state chief minister, the governor and the Home Ministry. "Verdict can be in favour of either of the community which might create communal tension in the city. We have sent a letter requesting to increase security measures," said Azmi.
The opposition is, however, describing Azmi's action as a political move. They are alleging that he is planning to create tension in the city.
"Only Azmi knows what cards he is playing, we are no one to comment on it. If he is saying that communal tension might happen after the verdict, how does he know about it?" said Subhash Desai, Shiv Sena group leader in the state legislative assembly. "Whatever judgment comes we will accept it. As for the law and order, it is the government's concern," he added. |
