After the Twitter intervention by actor Salman Khan into the alleged Sadhana harassment case by builder Yusuf Lakdawala, the investigations by Santacruz police have apparently gained momentum.
Sub-inspector Hegde who is handling the case in Santacruz (W) police station said that the police are interrogating all the parties involved. "We are closely looking into the harassment charges but certain information will be kept under wraps till further notice," Hegde added. Another senior officer Chaudhary added that the police are constantly patrolling the premises of the residential property called 'Sangeeta' which is owned by Asha Bhosle.
In response to these developments, the accused builder, Lakdawala is holding a press conference tomorrow. Criminal lawyer Majid Memon is expected to accompany him. Lakdawala has denied all the allegations against him.
According to sources, talks to redevelop the bungalow have been on for the past two decades. But it allegedly caught momentum only two years earlier, after a builder called Anil Kakkad took up the matter. Threats to the actress have escalated ever since, with three cases of stone pelting being reported at her house recently.
However, no such death threats by Lakdawala have been issued to the first floor tenants, a family of four. "Only I have been targeted as I am a senior citizen, living independently," said the veteran actress while accusing Anil Kakkad of having covert association with Lakdawala. The tenants on the first floor refused to comment on the issue.
Meanwhile, speaking to MiD DAY, Majid Memon said, "Lakdawala is neither the landlord, nor the owner or the proposed developer of the property, a part of which is occupied by Sadhana. He has no interest in dislocating her."
BJP leader Shaina NC who has also actively supported the actress said, "Sadhanaji is a peace loving person and hasn't come in front of the media for the past three decades. But this is a genuine case of harassment and the ongoing police investigation gives us hope that senior citizens in our country are protected."
