Girls wait for 3 hrs but don't get to shake hands with Rahul
It was a disappointing wait for two young girls here today, as their hopes of shaking hands with Rahul Gandhi were dashed due to alert securitymen.
The girls had waited since noon outside Tilak Bhawan, headquarters of Maharashtra Congress in central Mumbai, where the Congress general secretary addressed a meeting of party functionaries.
When Rahul's convoy was leaving MPCC office for another venue, the girls, about 20-years-old, tried to barge in and one of them almost succeeded in getting near Rahul's car, before the securitymen moved her aside. The car was gathering speed and the girl extended her hand to Rahul but was pushed away by the security personnel.
A Congress worker from western Maharashtra, however, was luckier. He managed to run alongside the car and to his delight, Rahul quickly shook his hand.
"I have been dreaming for the last 25 years to shake hand with someone from the Gandhi family. Today, that dream has been fulfilled," he was heard saying to other party men.
