According to Harian Metro, his wife had wanted a divorce but he had refused, despite knowing that she was cheating on him with a lecturer.

It was then that she turned violent, scratching his shoulders, strangling him and even trying to stab him with a screwdriver, the Star Online reported.

A police source said that the abuse started in March, when he had demanded his wife to confess about the affair, instead, she hit him and lodged a false police report against him.

A month later, the 42-year-old man was abused by his wife again, when he refused to go to the Syariah Court to file for a divorce.

“The victim stayed with his friend for more than a month because he was afraid of his wife,” the source said, adding that the husband eventually moved back to his home but started going to sleep only when his wife was out.

Worried for his safety, the husband has lodged a report at the Sentul police station.
