Cop booked for driving pregnant wife to suicide
A police constable in Kalwa has been booked for demanding dowry from his pregnant wife, which allegedly led her to commit suicide.

A police constable has been booked after his pregnant wife allegedly committed suicide in Kalwa town of Thane district, police said today.
The couple, who had got married six months ago, had a quarrel at their Gholai Nagar residence Wednesday following which the woman allegedly set herself on fire.

The woman, Archana Hivre (23), who was reportedly pregnant, succumbed to her burns on the spot, Kalwa police said.
Her husband, Sriram Hivre (26), has been booked under section 304B (dowry death) of the IPC and further investigation was on, police said.
The deceased's family alleged that she was forced to end her life following demands of dowry by her husband,
