Some of his growing kit was also stolen but the burglar left tubing, lights and other equipments behind.

Warnes, 29, of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, admitted to buying cannabis seeds and equipment online and also of possessing a class B drug.

He claimed that he smoked the drug to ease his depression.

The judge adjourned the case to hear medical evidence of his condition and the likely effect of the cannabis on it.
