Soldier who wed woman constable held for 'rape'
A soldier was arrested in Delhi after a woman complained to cops that he had 'married' her despite already having a wife and a child.
A soldier was arrested on charges of rape after a woman constable accused him of marrying her while hiding the fact that he already had a wife and a child, police said Monday.
Anil Yadav was arrested at Saraswati Vihar in north Delhi after the 28-year-old victim approached police Oct 25, said an officer.
Yadav, posted in Punjab's Faridkot district, befriended the victim on a train in March last year. He then came to the capital on several occasions to meet her.
The victim, posted at a police station in west Delhi, told police that Yadav established sexual relations with her and 'married' her in a temple in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.
She was not aware that he was already married and had a daughter in Madhya Pradesh's Indore district.
