Social worker returns bag containing Rs 2 lakh
Social worker Meera Limaye (50) handed over a bag containing Rs 2 lakh to the Bund Garden police station officials, which she found on a Mumbai-Pune Shivneri bus.
Limaye is associated with an NGO that works for HIV patients in the city. The money was immediately handed over to its owner, as he was present in the police station to register a compliant about the missing bag.
“Bipin Modi, a Mumbai-based businessman had come to the city by a Shivneri bus and forgot his bag containing Rs 2 lakh inside the bus at the bus stand near the railway station. It was Limaye who spotted the bag. On realising that it contained cash she approached us,” PSI of the Bund Garden police station Ashok Randive said.
Randive said Modi offered a cash reward to Limaye, which she refused.
