The police have arrested three people accused of the murder. Khan,a transporter, saw four people trying to steal electricity from a Reliance Energy box near his home in Tata Nagar, Govandi and tried to intervene.
The main accused Gulam Mustafa Shah, who has been booked earlier for electric theft in 2003, attacked him with a knife. Khan was admitted to Sion Hospital where he died on Friday. The police have arrested Gulam’s two sons Rizwan (20) and Arif (24). Another accused, Mazzu Gulam Shah (26) is absconding.
