"Sony has been conveyed informally the request not to air the episode," the official source told IANS.
Crime Patrol episodes are based on real-life crime stories.
An official behind the show said a week ago that they planned to base the Jan 11-12 episode on the brutal gangrape and torture of a 23-year-old physiotherapist trainee in south Delhi. The young woman died in a Singapore hospital Dec 29 of her grievous injuries.
The six rapists, including a juvenile, have been arrested and charges, including of murder, have been filed against five of them.
