Manager held for outraging job seeker's modesty

The 26-year-old woman had gone for a job interview at a reputed MNC where she was sexually assaulted by her interviewer

A 26-year-old woman, who had gone for a job interview at a reputed multinational company at Senapati Bapat Road, became the latest victim of sexual harassment at the workplace. The interviewer, an associate manager with the software company, sexually assaulted the woman on Saturday.

Speaking to MiD DAY, PSI of Chatushringi police station SD Patil said that the accused has been identified as Sanjay Kishor Dubey (38). “He was given the responsibility of screening job aspirants. The victim had gone to the company for an interview, and was asked to meet Dubey in his cabin. After the interview was over, Dubey asked her to wait outside.”

The police said that the accused, after completing some other interviews, came out of the cabin and signalled the woman to come near the staircase. “The complainant thought that she was called for another round of interview, and immediately followed him. No sooner that she go near the staircase, Dubey touched her inappropriately and tried to outrage her modesty,” Patil said.

Shocked, the woman rushed to the police station and lodged a complaint against the manager. “We arrested him on Saturday evening under Section 354 of the IPC. He was then produced before the Shivajinagar court that granted him bail,” said Patil.
