The Bandra-Worli Sea Link, a stretch of the run, was found littered with plastic water bottles after the race was over. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) had collected a security deposit of Rs 20 lakh from the marathon organisers as a cover against littering.

The MSRDC authorities have said they would deduct charges from the security deposit if the sea link is littered or damaged after the run. Volunteers clean up after the athletes and participants, who speckled the bridge with discarded bottles, were long gone.
