Remembering Gaur

It is famous scriptwriter and lyricist Vrajendra Gaur's death anniversary today. Gaur was an excellent writer, who worked with eminent film directors in movies like Gyan Mukherjee, Shakti Samanta and Pramod Chakravorty.
 
Among his prominent films are Bimal Roy's Parineeta, Kati Patang, Sharmilee, Anuraag, Lal Patthar, The Great Gambler, Jhumroo and Warrant.

Though Gaur wrote more than a 100 films, he was essentially a literary person, who started writing at the age of 15.

Banned

He wrote many dramas, stories and books like Parole Par (the book was banned by the then British Government due to anti-British sentiments), Manzil, Jaagte Raho, Sindoor Ki Laaj, etc.
