Mumbai is a cosmopolitan city and irrespective of one's caste and culture, all Mumbaikars celebrate each other's festivals with much fanfare.
Janmashtami Lord Krishna's birthday was celebrated with the breaking of dahi handis all over the city without any untoward incident.
This is the spirit of Mumbai. Fanatics may try to disturb the peace of Mumbai, but they have never been able to succeed so far.
Anti-social elements, who have bombed the city in the past, have failed in their attempts to create fear amongst us.
They will also try to target us during Ganesh Chaturthi, which is Mumbai's most popular festival. But with the police and people taking precautions, they are bound to fail once again.
We all need to co-operate with security agencies to abort a terror attack. No attempt can ever affect Mumbai, which is the best city to live in on this planet.

I have always been in awe of Mumbai for the way it celebrates festivals. In India, we celebrate all occassions with a lot of enthusiasm, but Mumbaikars are always a step ahead.
The city has its own way of enjoying, be it coming out in crowds on streets, causing a traffic jam or dancing on roads.
We celebrate festivals to the maximum. The best part is that people from different communities celebrate the festivals together.
First it was the Independence Day, then Janmashtami and Dahi Handi, and now, we all await Ganeshutsav. Truly, the city is always on the move, with all possible vigour and excitement.
