Language barriers

India:

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has warned shopowners that not putting up boards in Marathi will invite the wrath of his men.

His deadline ends today. He has also threatened traders with dire consequences. It seems the state government has given its consent to MNS to bully others. Someone needs to stop this hooliganism. Other political parties are also not opposing MNS activities.

If this continues, it may lead to serious problems, and then shop owners will have to take the law in their hands to protect themselves from the MNS.

Raj Thackeray has to stop imposing his Marathi diktats on us.

What is the harm in putting nameplates in Marathi? It is the state language and it is our duty to keep our local traditions alive. Raj Thackeray is only performing this duty. We should support him.

What Raj said

"By August, you have to decide which would be a cheaper option, having Marathi nameplates or having your shop."
