Celebrate an eco-friendly Ganeshotsav
By: Manish Parmar

Mumbai: Mayor Shubha Raul's eco-friendly suggestion of making smaller idols is very good for the city and the environment. Idol makers should be encouraged to make idols of clay instead of toxic Plaster of Paris (POP).

Good idea

By using non-toxic paints, immersing idols in artificial ponds, making smaller pandals to curb traffic jams, saving electricity, playing music at a lower volume, and avoiding disposing garlands, flowers and fruits in lakes and seas, we can enjoy a pollution-free festival.

The State government, municipal authorities, MPs, MLAs, corporators, NGOs, school and college authorities  should support our mayor's suggestions.
