Why just girls? all poor students
need free books |

The Maharashtra Government is offering free text books to girl students of aided high schools also. This is a wastage of public money, as the books are delivered only three to four weeks after the academic year begins.
Meanwhile, parents end up buying the books for the children.
The government's exercise, thus, becomes unnecessary.
Is it a good idea to provide free books to the girl students whose parents can afford them? Instead, I would like to suggest that the government provide these free books to all students from the poor section of the society, regardless of whether they are boys or girls. |
