Mamata must win commuters' trust |

Now that Mamata Banerjee has been inducted into the Cabinet of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh as the Union Railway Minister, it remains to be seen whether she will merely look for profits or work towards upgrading the basic services and enhance safety for passengers.
The outgoing railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav was only concerned with the financial gains of the Railways and glorified the profits raked in.
He never cared about or solved the problem of lack of basic services and security of commuters.
High expectations
Much is expected from Mamata Banerjee and we sincerely hope that she remains dedicated towards the development of the Railways and makes the commuters proud. Let's also hope that she won't follow Lalu's path.
