Gitanjali Jewels presented Ritu Beri's collection 'Summerleas' to successfully conclude Blender's Pride Bangalore Fashion Week 2012. Ritu set the tone for women's fashion with her new spring- summer collection, which is a modern take to an Indian concept, accented with interesting details. The basic concept was to create a modern look retaining the traditional element for a woman who has evolved with the fast pace of the world and yet looks inwardly for the primary element the soul. There are a wide range of hues in the collection from whites to reds, golden, yellow to metallic’s to black’s. The fabric used are basic weaves from pure cottons to rich brocades, silks, velvet, satin and lace, all artistically blended and intricately embroidered with zardosi, sequins braids and Swarovksi crystals to create a magical spell. The silhouettes are very wearable, contemporary with interestiing details; one can see also layering that is predominant in some of the evening ensembles. Essentially, the collection is an eclectic blend of kurtas, ghagras/cholis with elaborate odhinis; long flared, as well as, straight tunics over salwars and churidars.
