In his second directorial outing 'The Shaukeens', Abhishek Sharma has retained the plot of the 1982-comic caper 'Shaukeen', but has added his signature style of humour to make the film reach out to today's audience. While in the old film, the three lecherous men played by Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt and AK Hangal go to Goa for enjoyment, in 'The Shaukeens' the three men played by Annu Kapoor, Piyush Mishra and Anupam Kher head to Mauritius. It is interesting to note that Rati Agnihotri, who played the singer in the original flick, returns as a religious housewife who prefers to chant rather than oblige her husband's desires. Cameos by Abhishek Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Dimple Kapadia and Suniel Shetty are something to watch out for in this offbeat remake of the classic film.
