  • Judy Garland Judy Garland, who won an Oscar for her performance in ‘The Wizard of Oz’, died at the age of 47 in 1969. She had been acting for 45 of those 47 years.
  • Marilyn Monroe Born Norma Jean Mortenson, Marilyn Monroe led a troubled life before dying in her sleep at the age of 36 from an overdose of sleeping pills.
  • Heath Ledger Actor Heath Ledger died from an accidental overdose of six prescription drugs in 2008. The Australian actor, best known for his role as in the 2005 film ‘Brokeback Mountain’, was 28. He was the second person to win a posthumous Oscar Award for acting for his performance in ‘The Dark Knight’.
  • Jim Morrison Lead singer of the famous band ‘The Doors’, Jim Morrison died mysteriously at the age of 27. It is believed that he died of a heart attack triggered by accidental heroin overdose.
  • Jimi Hendrix Jimi Hendrix died in London in 1970 at the age 27. His death report stated that the guitarist and singer-songwriter had asphyxiated in his own vomit after mixing drugs and alcohol.
  • Amy Winehouse British soul singer, Amy Winehouse, died on in July 2011, from alcohol poisoning at the age of 27.
  • Brittany Murphy Brittany Murphy, who was famous for her roles in films like ‘Clueless’ and ‘8 Mile’, died suddenly at the age of 32 in 2009. According to the coroner reports, she died of a combination of pneumonia and an accidental drug overdose. Tragically, in 2010, her widower Simon Monjack was found dead at the same residence, also of drug overdose.
