2011 January this year, Beckham once again made news,. Artist Artis M Cotter painted Beckham as Jesus, showing the footballer on a crucifix. The police showed up at the Johnny Cotter Gallery, Kent, where it was hanging, and asked the artist to take down the offensive painting.
