Mamata Banerjee - 07 March 2012

Mamata Banerjee is the chief minister of West Bengal. She came to power after upstaging the 34-year long Left Front rule in the state. Fondly called 'Didi', she's known for her simplicity. She recently created a ruckus in a police station to have her arrested party members released.

Sheila Dikshit - 07 March 2012

Congress member Sheila Dikshit is the chief minister of Delhi. While her name has cropped up in some controversies, it was in October last year that her surname created a furore. A New Zealand TV show host mispronounced her surname 'Dikshit' making it sound offensive and went on to say some more unsavoury things about her.

This Women's Day we look at some of them. - 07 March 2012

While Sonia Gandhi's Italian roots have often been a bone of contention, it cannot be denied that this 'Bharat ki bahu' has, to quite an extent, made her mark in Indian politics.
