Pune:

Areas: Haveli, Daund, Indapur, Baramati and Purandhar.

History:  It is known as the sugar bowl of Maharashtra and had been the citadel of Sharad Pawar who has won the seat six times. Baramati was traditionally been a Congress stronghold even before Sharad Pawar started contesting from here. It was only in 1977 that the seat went to a non-Congress candidate. It was won by Sambhaji Kakade of Janata Party.

Biggies: Pawar's daughter Supriya Sule has fair chances of winning the seat due to Pawar's goodwill. But as Sule lacks the charisma that her father has, BJP can field either actress Hema Malini or Smriti Irani to cash upon their popularity.

Size of voter base: 15 lakh

Who: Marathas, Dhangars, Dalits and OBCs

Strength: Sule seems to have an upper hand as her fathers good will work in her favour.

Tea-leaf reading: Irrespective of who contests against her, Sule is likely to sweep the polls.
