Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will not contest election from Mumbai, Mumbai Pradesh Congress Committee chief Kripa Shankar said.
"He has excused himself owing to health reasons. But, he has expressed his support to the Congress party," the Mumbai MP added.
Saying that the party would start the procedure of inviting applications for party ticket to the coming general elections from today, Shankar said party MP Govinda has so far not applied.
He also confirmed that stand up comedian Raju Srivastava and Bhojpuri movie star Ravi Kissen have expressed their desire to contest from Uttar Pradesh.
He refused comment over Raju Srivastava being fielded from Allahabad parliamentary constituency.
