Ghatkopar Building Collapse: A portion of building collapses in Ghatkopar East

In an unfortunate incident, a portion of the building collapsed in the Rajawadi Colony of Ghatkopar (East). Some residents were stranded in the building. Police and fire brigade rushed to the spot trying to pull out the people trapped in the debris due to the Ghatkopar building collapse. No injuries have been reported as of now. In a similar incident, three persons were injured when the roof of a restaurant collapsed in Maharashtra's Thane city following heavy rains, civic officials said on Sunday.

Bhiwandi Building Collapse: Eight dead, ten injured; CM, PM announce assistance

A 10-year-old ground-plus-three-storey building collapsed in a heap around 1pm on Saturday in Vardhman Compound in Valpada village in rural parts of Bhiwandi in Thane. The building housed godowns on the ground and first floor and four families in tenements on the top floor. 22 residents were believed to be trapped in the debris out of which, 10 injured are being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Bhiwandi. Eight people died in the incident. The residents were rescued with the help of the Thane Disaster Response Force personnel  National Disaster Response Force personnel. The rescue operation was called off after more than 45 hours of the incident. On Saturday night, Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde visited the IGM hospital after visiting the incident site, where he met with the injured. The CM also announced ₹5 lakh assistance to each of the kin of the deceased. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF to the heir of the deceased and the injured would be given Rs. 50,000.

The Bengaluru metro pillar collapse incident that is becoming the key point of criticism against the BJP, claimed 2 lives on January 10. The under-construction metro pillar collapsed near Nagavara on the outer ring road in Bengaluru. Taking a swipe at the BJP over the ‘40 percent commission’ controversy, Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar labeled the incident a result of the same. Congress leader Sowmya Reddy blamed BJP’s negligence and corruption as the culprit behind the accident.  Experts have been called to examine and find out the reason behind the collapse, informed police.

Bengaluru Tragedy: Under Construction Metro Pillar Collapsed

An under-construction Metro pillar collapsed near the Nagawara area of Bengaluru today. The pillar collapsed over a family of four riding on a bike. The woman and her two-and-a-half-year-old son were killed in the incident. The condition of the father and their other child is said to be stable. The iron bars of the pillar had been fixed and were yet to be concretised.

2 killed, 12 injured after building collapses in Kurla's Naik Nagar society

A wing of the residential building, located in Kurla's Naik Nagar Society, collapsed around midnight, the official said. The injured people were shifted to civic hospitals in Ghatkopar and Sion. Two men, aged 28 and 30, among those brought to the Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar, was declared dead on arrival, a civic official told PTI.
