DMK leader and minister for fisheries and animal husbandry Anitha R Radhakrishnan rolled out an advertisement in the Tamil newspapers on Wednesday. The ad had an image of a rocket with a Chinese flag on its nose cone, instead of the image of an IRSO rocket. The ad was intended to celebrate New space sport in Kulasekarapattinam. BJP has accused DMK of disrespecting Indian's sovereignty. Prime Minister Modi who is on a two day visit to Tamil Nadu said that the ad insulted Indian scientists and is a waste of public money. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai trained guns at DMK.

As the Uniform Civil Code Bill is to be tabled in the state legislative Assembly on February 06, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami left from his residence in Dehradun with a copy of the Indian Constitution. CM Dhami will present the Uniform Civil Code Uttarakhand 2024 Bill in the State Assembly today. The bill will be tabled during the ongoing four-day special session of the assembly, which began on February 05. On February 04, the Uttarakhand Cabinet approved the final draft of the UCC, which proposes uniform civil laws for all communities in the state. When the bill becomes law, it will replace the personal religious laws that govern marriage, divorce, inheritance etc.

Unexpectedly, the UT’s sudden popularity became the ‘apple of discord’ to Maldivian MPs. Taking to X, Maldivian Minister Mariyam Shiuna made ‘abusive remarks’ on Indian PM’s Lakshadweep visit. However, she deleted her tweet after facing a massive uproar over her controversial remarks. Fuming at a post featuring PM Modi’s visit, MP Zahid Rameez said that the idea of competing with them is “delusional”. In what is claimed to be India’s biggest drug haul in terms of monetary value, NCB seized drugs worth 15,000 crores off the Kochi coast. The seizure was part of ‘Operation Samudragupt’ targeting maritime drug trafficking. 134 sacks of suspected Methamphetamine were recovered from a ship. As per Deputy Director-General of Narcotics Control Bureau, Sanjay Kumar Singh, the source of the drugs is Pakistan. One person, suspected to be a Pakistan national, was arrested by the agencies and an investigation is on.
