Oppn meet: Bengaluru decks up, NCP supremo Sharad Pawar to skip Day 1 session

Big posters and banners were put up on Race Course Road in Bengaluru on July 17. The posters welcomed leaders of various opposition parties set to arrive for the joint Opposition meeting. Posters of Opposition leaders, including AAP's national convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, were put up at the venue. The first round of meetings is scheduled to take place on July 17 and the second round at Taj West End Hotel in Bengaluru on July 18. Top leaders of at least 26 political parties would attend the second Opposition unity meeting being convened by Congress. Rahul Gandhi was seen leaving for the meet with Sonia Gandhi. Meanwhile, Jairam Ramesh, DK Sivakumar briefed the media about the opposition meet. AAP leader Raghav Chadha while talking about the meet and absence of Sharad Pawar in the meet highlighted that the NCP chief is not attending the meet owing to the first day of Monsoon session of Maharashtra Assembly.

Pathaan Box Office Collection: Shah Rukh Starrer Film Hits 100 Crore Opening

Pathaan marked the comeback of Shah Rukh Khan after four years to the silver screen. The movie collected a record-breaking ₹ 55 crore at the Indian box office on the first day of the release. Pathaan had crossed Rs 106 crores from releases worldwide for day 1. It has broken the worldwide opening day record for a Hindi film. Pathaan is now the "biggest opener" in Hindi cinema. The film, co-starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles, pushes KGF Hindi, War and Thugs Of Hindostan down from their previous positions. Pathaan, released on January 25, witnessed audiences in huge numbers at theatres for early morning shows. Across India, the fans were spotted celebrating the release by cutting cakes and dancing to the dhol beats.

The Yash Raj Films project, which marks Shah Rukh's return to leading men roles after 2018's "Zero", is set to hit cinema halls a day before the Republic Day. The advance bookings for “Pathaan”, backed by Yash Raj Films, opened from January 20. The film is reportedly set to be released across Indian in 5,000 screens.
