A shocking incident of child molestation has emerged from Thane. Reportedly, on a school trip on February 20th, the bus attendant molested 8-10 children who were from grade 2. Parents held protests outside school against the school administration over alleged molestation of children on a school trip. They were demanding the resignation of the teachers involved and management. We have filed an FIR against the teacher, management, principal and the criminal. On the Thane children molestation incident, a parent said, "On February 20, when kids from grade 2 were on a picnic, two outsiders also accompanied them which wasn't informed to any parents. We don't know the due diligence or the process through which they're selected for the picnic.”

Amid the political storm in West Bengal that has erupted over the Sandeshkhali horror case, a major breakthrough has been achieved as the accused Shibu Hazra was arrested on Feb 17 from Basirhat. According to police, as many as 18 people have been arrested in the case so far. Notably, agitated villagers set fire to a poultry farm belonging to TMC leader Shivprasad Hazra. Residents claimed that Hazra took over their land against their will, leading to their agitation. Political storm broke out following the incident provoking to and fro allegations from state and national parties. The poor local women have narrated tales of horror of women being raped for years by leaders of Mamata Banerjee’s party Trinamool Congress and their henchmen in TMC’s party office.

The months-long wrestlers’ protest picked up pace again at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar as wrestlers gathered to protest over lack of action over sexual harassment case on April 23. Assam president of Indian Youth Congress levelled serious allegations against IYC national president Srinivas BV. She accused Srinivas BV of “continuously harassing and discriminating” her for last six months. She claimed that the issue raised by her fell on “deaf ears” as party leadership didn’t take action. In her tweet, Angkita Dutta referred to BV Srinivas as “sexist” and “chauvinistic”. Meanwhile, a legal notice has been issued by IYC’s legal cell chief Roopesh S Bhadauria. The legal cell termed the allegations by Angkita Dutta “as totally frivolous”.
