Ayodhya Airport: Passengers react to historic flight from Delhi to Ayodhya

Ahead of the grand consecration ceremony at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple on January 22, the passengers alighting from the first flight to the newly built Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham hailed PM Modi on December 30. They thanked PM Modi for giving them Ayodhya Airport as a gift. Passengers were also seen paying obeisance and chanting Jai Shree Ram while alighting the flight. “This land is pure and sacred, this is the land of Shri Ram. There can be no sacred ground like this. To pay obeisance here one should lie down. When Shri Ram got down from Pushpak Viman, the same experience was felt. There is no limit to happiness today. Today is the matter of greatest joy and happiness in my life,” said Bhaskar Shukla, a passenger from Delhi. On the other hand, another passenger, Nitin Lalwani from a Delhi flight said, “Ever since I was born I found Ayodhya, a city which was backward. But today there is a feeling that Ayodhya has become an international city. Now we are waiting for 22nd January when the Temple will be inaugurated. People will come from across the world to see Ayodhya, a pure land of Shree Ram.”, he said.

Ayodhya Airport: Passengers recite Hanuman Chalisa on Delhi to Ayodhya flight

History was etched on Dec 30, 2023 as devotees boarded first flight from Delhi to newly built Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya. The passengers were all excited for their journey and they even recited ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ inside the flight. After landing in Ayodhya airport, some passengers kissed the ground and paid obeisance. PM Modi reached ‘Ram Nagari’ on December 30 and gave several infrastructural gifts to the locals. Maharishi Valmiki International Airport was inaugurated in Ayodhya by PM Narendra Modi. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on December 30 praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inaugurating various projects in Ayodhya. He also said that the wait of 500 years is about to end with the consecration of Ayodhya Ram Mandir.

Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport being built in Ayodhya has reached its final stages of construction. Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM KP Maurya along with officials inspected Ayodhya International Airport on Dec 26. The airport will be suitable for day, night operations as well as during low visibility conditions of more than 550m. Both AAI and DGCA officials collaborated to complete this project successfully. The terminal building is designed to handle 600 passengers during peak hours and 10 lakh passengers annually. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit Ayodhya on December 30 to inaugurate the International Airport at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh.

The work of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport has reached its final stages of construction in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya on December 12. The work on the airstrip and night landing facility has been completed...The inauguration can happen any time now,” said Ayodhya DM Nitish Kumar.

Port Blair: PM Modi inaugurates new terminal at Veer Savarkar airport

PM Modi virtually inaugurated the new integrated terminal building at Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair. Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, General VK Singh were also present at the inaugural ceremony. With a total built-up area of around 40,800 sqm., the new terminal building will be capable of handling about 50 lakh passengers annually. With apron suitable for two Boeing types of planes, the airport is now suitable for parking of ten aircraft at a time. Terminal has a number of sustainability features like Double Insulated Roofing System to reduce heat gain, skylights for inlet of natural sunlight. It has rainwater catchment in an underground water tank, on-site sewage treatment plant with 100% of treated wastewater reused for landscaping. Cutting-edge modern features of the terminal building will ensure minimal negative impact on the islands’ environment. As a gateway to the pristine islands of Andaman and Nicobar, Port Blair is a popular destination for tourists. The spacious New Integrated Terminal Building will boost air traffic and help enhance tourism in the region.  It will also help create enhanced employment opportunities for the local community and give fillip to the economy of the region.

PM Modi to inaugurate new terminal of Veer Savarkar airport in Port Blair

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the New Integrated Terminal Building of Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair on 18th July via video conferencing. With a total built-up area of around 40,800 sqm., the new terminal building will be capable of handling about 50 lakh passengers annually. An Apron suitable for two Boeing-767-400 and two Airbus-321 types of aircraft has also been constructed at Port Blair Airport at a cost of Rs 80 crore, making the airport now suitable for parking of ten aircraft at a time. Inspired from nature, the architectural design of the airport terminal resembles a shell shaped structure depicting sea and islands. The new airport terminal building has a number of sustainability features like Double Insulated Roofing System to reduce heat gain, skylights to provide maximum inlet of abundant natural sunlight during day time to reduce artificial light usage inside the building, LED lighting, low heat gain glazing. Rainwater catchment in an underground water tank, on-site sewage treatment plant with 100% of treated wastewater reused for landscaping and a 500 KW capacity solar power plant are some other features of the terminal building ensuring minimal negative impact on the islands’ environment.

Flight operations resumed after fire broke out at Kolkata airport

A fire broke out inside Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport on Wednesday evening. Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot to bring the blaze under control. The airport authorities said that the fire broke out at 9:12 pm and was fully extinguished by 9:40 pm. Union Minister for Civil Aviation & Steel, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, while talking about the fire incident tweeted. Later, flight operations have been resumed and no casualties have been reported.

Maha CM Shinde performs ‘bhoomi pujan’ for Tirupati temple in Navi Mumbai

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday performed the 'bhoomi poojan' of a temple, built on a 10 acre land in Navi Mumbai allotted by the state government to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) trust. Among those present during the 'bhoomi pujan' on Wednesday included Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Raymond company Chairman and Managing Director Gautam Singhania, TTD trust board Chairman YV Subba Reddy and its Executive Officer AV Dharma Reddy. The temple will be built at a cost of Rs 70 crore, with Singhania coming forward to foot the entire expenses. The construction will be completed within two years. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde in his address said the temple will go a long way in fulfilling the desire of thousands of devotees who want to visit Tirumala but are not able to do so for various reasons.

The students, who have been pursuing higher education degrees in various institutions in the northeastern state, and parents who were waiting for them thanked the state government for helping them to return home safely. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on May 07 had said that a special flight will be arranged to bring back the students. CM Shinde also held a telephonic discussion with two students stranded in Manipur.
