Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Jharkhand on a day-long visit ahead of the Lok Sabha election. The PM laid the foundations of several rail projects worth Rs. 17,600 crore. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects in Dhanbad’s Sindri. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also flagged off three trains during the program. This includes the Deoghar-Dibrugarh train service and the MEMU train service between Tatanagar and Badampahar. However, PM Modi's Lovely gesture towards Jharkhand CM Champai Soren has been winning hearts in social media. The PM asked Soren to sit next to him on the stage.

A tragic train accident took place in Jharkhand's Jamtara on 28th February evening as a passenger train ran over 2 passengers at the Kalajharia railway station killing both of them. The Eastern Railway said the victims were walking on the track when they were run over by the Jhajha-Asansol Memu passenger train. Initial reports suggested the persons killed were passengers of Anga Express, running parallel to Memu passenger train, which stopped due to a fire call. The reports claimed that passengers deboarded the train and were run over the Memu train.According to the railway. Officials, the incident occurred at 7 pm and only two persons were killed.

Income Tax sleuths have recovered more than Rs 200 crore cash in the Dheeraj Sahu IT Raids from several locations in Odisha and Jharkhand.
