The US would welcome any country interested in using its voice to further deter the Russian offensive in Ukraine and play a positive role in helping release hostages and defeating Hamas amid the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, US State Department Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel said at a press briefing on April 18. Asked how the US and the international community can use Prime Minister Narendra Modi's influence to end the ongoing war worldwide, Patel said, “Specifically, first in the context of Russia-Ukraine, if any country is interested in using its voice to further deter Russian aggression on the people of Ukraine, we certainly would welcome that and in the current ongoing context in Gaza, any country that believes that they can play a positive role in helping us get to a release of hostages, helping us get additional humanitarian assistance into Gaza, and helping to defeat Gaza, they certainly should and are welcome to play that role.”

Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh became emotional after director Imtiaz Ali praised him, saying that despite his achievements, it's just the beginning for him. The movie is directed by Rajesh A Krishnan and stars three leading ladies of Bollywood Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon along with musician Diljit Dosanjh and the comedic maestro, Kapil Sharma. The ‘CREW’ movie follows three resilient women as they navigate through life’s twists and turns, finding themselves entangled in unexpected circumstances. In the press conference, the leading ladies spoke about the experience of working in the film, and in a fun banter with the host, they also shared some anecdotes during the filming of the movie. While joking Tabu said, “Directors take me in their film to scold only because I seem to do that well.” Kareena spoke about the honour she felt after sharing screen space with both Tabu and Kriti. Randeep Hooda's first film post his wedding 'Swatantra Veer Savarkar' is all set to be out soon. This film is also a directorial debut. At the trailer launch event held on March 4, 2024, actor and first-time director Randeep Hooda said that his film is not propaganda and that it’s the antidote to the propaganda against freedom fighter and politician Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. DMK leader and minister for fisheries and animal husbandry Anitha R Radhakrishnan rolled out an advertisement in the Tamil newspapers on Wednesday. The ad had an image of a rocket with a Chinese flag on its nose cone, instead of the image of an IRSO rocket. The ad was intended to celebrate New space sport in Kulasekarapattinam. BJP has accused DMK of disrespecting Indian's sovereignty. Prime Minister Modi who is on a two day visit to Tamil Nadu said that the ad insulted Indian scientists and is a waste of public money. PM Narendra Modi during his visit to Kerala on 27th February revealed the names of the four astronauts who have been selected for India's first human space mission Gaganyaan. Group Captain Prashanth Nair, Ajit Krishnan, Angad Pratap and Wing Commander Shubhanshu Shukla will join the mission. PM Modi reviewed the progress of Gaganyaan Mission and bestowed astronaut wings to the astronaut designates. The US and UK Armed Forces conducted strikes against 18 Houthi targets in Yemen. The attacks were backed by several Western nations including Australia, Canada, Denmark, New Zealand. The strikes targeted areas used by the Houthis to attack international merchant vessels and naval ships in the region. For months, Houthi attack have been disrupting aid bound for Yemen harming Middle Eastern economies. Meanwhile, Houthi military on February 25 said that they targeted an American oil tanker in Gulf of Aden. Houthi Military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said their navy targeted the US-flagged, owned commercial ship, MV Torm Thor. Britain also released a video of Typhoon fighter jets and Voyager tanker aircraft in operation for joint military action against Houthis. The US and Britain have re-designated the Houthis as a terrorist group, after they began targeting commercial vessels.

The Cabinet Committee on Security has cleared the Indian Navy’s proposals to buy 220 BrahMos extended-range missiles for its warships. The contract will be signed on March 05 and 220 BrahMos will be worth around Rs 20,000 crore. The extended-range BrahMos is speculated to have an extended range of around 800 km. This would be a major ‘Make in India’ success for the missile system built with Russia’s partnership. India’s BrahMos is a universal long-range supersonic cruise missile system that can be launched from land, sea, and air. Not only to just Indian Navy, but the indigenous BrahMos missile system will also be exported to the Philippines. In January, DRDO Chief Dr Samir Kamat informed ANI about the export of India’s missile system to the Philippines.
