Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on December 27 visited Rajouri to review the security situation in the Kashmir valley. While addressing the media persons, Raksha Mantri issued a stern warning to Pakistan and assured that the required steps are being taken on the Poonch Terror Attack. On top of that, Rajnath Singh boosted the morale of security forces in Jammu and Kashmir. “I would pray for the speedy recovery of the army personnel who sustained injuries and like to assure you that keeping in mind the severity of the incident, required steps are being taken. Four Army personnel including two officers & and two jawans have lost their lives in an ongoing Rajouri encounter. Union Minister and former Army chief General VK Singh on Thursday stressed the need to isolate Pakistan. Singh's statement came as he responded to reporters on the death of Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish Dhonak and DSP Humayun Bhat, during the Anantnag encounter in Jammu and Kashmir. The commanding officer of 19 Rashtriya Rifles, a major rank officer and a Deputy superintendent of police were killed in an encounter with the terrorists at Gadole in the Kokernag area of Anantnag district on Wednesday. Security was beefed up in the Kokeranag area after the Anantnag encounter.
