Rajouri Encounter: There is a sorrowful atmosphere in Naglia Gaurola, the village of Para Commando Sachin Laur, who was killed in an encounter with terrorists in Rajouri, Jammu on November 23. Sachin’s Father Ramesh Chandra Laur recalls his last conversation with his son where Sachin said, “I’ll be coming back soon there are only two terrorists remaining, we have surrounded the house they're hiding in, as soon as the operation is finished I’ll come back.” Sachin’s Mother Bhagvati Devi said, “We were informed yesterday at 9.00 am. Sachin had last come to meet us during Raksha Bandhan.” Ramesh Chandra Laur further informed that Sachin’s marriage was scheduled on December 08 and all the preparations had been done.

Amid Israel-Hamas Conflict, at least 15 soldiers were killed in fighting inside the Gaza Strip on Nov 01. The troops who were there to eliminate the Hamas terror group laid their lives during the ground invasion. Israeli forces continued to attack targets by land and air overnight killing dozens of members of the terror group. Among 15 soldiers, an Indian-origin soldier, Staff SGT. Halel Solomon was also killed in Hamas attack. 20-year-old Halel Solomon, a resident of Israel’s Dimona, was from Givati Infantry Brigade’s Tzabar Battalion. The incident took place when a Namer armored personnel carrier they were in was hit by an anti-tank guided missile. The casualty toll underlined the threats soldiers are facing after weeks of punishing air campaign. Israeli tanks have been active inside Gaza for at least four days following Hamas’ attack on October 7. At least 8,525 people have been killed in Israeli attacks since Oct 7, said Gaza health authorities.

In reference to the recent face-off between the Indian and the Chinese troops in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi had accused the Centre of ‘sleeping’ while China makes ‘offensive preparations’ across the Line of Actual Control (LAC). He added that the Indian soldiers were ‘thrashed’ by the Chinese troops. Rahul Gandhi also criticized the media for not asking questions over the Tawang clash between Indian army and Chinese troops.
