The kite festival or Makarsankranti is regarded as one of the biggest festivals celebrated in the western part of India. These days, kites flown are known to use a special kind of string coated with glass powder. This practice poses a grave threat to numerous birds and animals and even humans. The Plant and Animal Welfare society is an NGO founded in 2002 by youths who loved working towards animal welfare and protection. Watch this video to see the inspiring work they have been doing.
