External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on April 04 said that one of the biggest achievement of Modi-Government is that it has carried out rescue operations abroad numerous times. “Many Indians live outside India… they travel outside India, they study outside India… In few years we had big challenges… There was a war in Ukraine…War between Israel and Gaza… there is civil war in Sudan… We have had many times to do rescue operations… One of the Modi-Government is that we tell every Indian to feel safe when outside because we are there for you,” said EAM S Jaishankar.

For the first time in the history of Independent India, defence exports touched a record Rs 21,083 crore in the financial year 2023-24. India’s defence exports saw a record growth of 32.5 pc over the last fiscal year when the figure was Rs 15,920 crore. The recent figures have indicated that the defence exports have grown by 31 times in the last 10 years. Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi called India’s defence sector growth a “monumental achievement”. The Prime Minister lauded the team’s hard work those who propelled India onto the global stage in defence. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh hailed PM Modi’s visionary leadership and congratulated all stakeholders. The defence industry, including private sector, has made tremendous efforts in achieving the highest-ever defence exports. The private sector and the DPSUs have contributed about 60 per cent and 40 per cent, respectively.

Former Pakistani diplomat Husain Haqqani has given advice to Pak government to improve relations with India. In a post on X, Haqqani wrote about the attacks that had been carried out against India. He addressed the people complaining about India’s hardening attitude towards Pakistan. Haqqani reminded them of Kargil War, Kashmir insurgency, attack on Indian Parliament, and horrors of 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Former Pak Ambassador to US, Husain advised Pakistan to ‘accept’ the results to make dialogue honest with India. “Some in Pakistan are complaining about hardening Indian attitudes towards Pakistan. It is result of Kashmir insurgency (1989-2019), Kargil (1999), Parliament attack (2001), Mumbai terror attack (2008), & much more. Accepting that might make dialogue honest & easier,” Husain Haqqani wrote in a post on X. Both the nuclear-armed countries have fought three wars since independence from Britain in 1947. On several instances, like Mumbai attacks, 2001 Parliament attack, the ties between the two nations have worsened. Also, the Kashmir conflict and Pakistan’s continuous terror-sponsoring have fueled enmity between the countries.

5 Chinese nationals among 6 killed in suicide bomb attack in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on March 26. An explosive-packed vehicle rammed into the bus carrying the Chinese nationals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Amjad Ayub Mirza, a political activist from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) lashed out at Pak Govt. POK Activist said, “The attack signifies that the Pakistani Army is losing control in the region”. A video of a Bengaluru shopkeeper being thrashed by Muslim mob, is making rounds on social media. The shopkeeper was allegedly thrashed for playing Hanuman Chalisa at his store. Political slugfest broke out soon after the videos reached the Opposition in the state. Taking to ‘X’, LoP R Ashoka shared the video and questioned the state government over the incident. Meanwhile, BJP leader PC Mohan alleged that the attack on man is the grim reality of Congress’ ‘Mohabbat Ki Dukaan’. BJP Yuva Morcha National President Tejasvi Surya alleged that the incident was result of Conress’ appeasement politics. Surya after meeting the victim on March 18 said that he has demanded an unbiased investigation from Bengaluru City Commissioner.
